Pictorial Tuesday 1 29 19 Link Up

Needed some color besides white snow. Photo memories from summers past of my roses, dahlia, and a fireworks. I am  already over winter and it really has just begun for us. More snow and bitter cold on way. Stay warm, and if you're in a warm weather location, you're so lucky. :) Thanks for sharing your photography. Pictorial Tuesday is for sharing your photography, digital scrapbooking/graphics, or a photo into photo art.

Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of they hands, thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field: The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and Whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is they name in all the earth!  Psalm 8:6-9 KJV

Pictorial Tuesday 1 22 19

Sleet, freezing rain, and snow this past week-end. Iced trees and wind knocked electric out for a bit. Thank you to all those who have to go out in the bitter cold to repair electric lines. Tomorrow is back in the 30's...yay!

Happy Tuesday and time for another Pictorial Tuesday link up. Thank you for sharing your photography.

Sunday Scripture Blessings 1 20 19

"For the Lord your GOD is living among you. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs. Zephaniah 3:17 NLT

This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6:16 NIV

So many paths ~ So many choices. I have always been one to be on the "fence as they say" when I need to make a choice. They are hard, and I'm never sure which way I want to fall off that fence. Eventually I do make the choice, and lots of times, I have made them without prayer first for guidance. Some have worked out, some I have regrets over, but as I look back, I do realize that even though I didn't ask prior to my choice, God was there helping. So, I wonder how much better the paths that I chose might have been better had I prayerfully asked my heavenly Father. Even so, as the scripture says, he rejoices with us, and he helps us find rest and peace.

He calms our fears
He loves us
He rejoices over us
He delights in us
He promises rest
All promises that work so much better in life if we ask where the good way is, and choose to walk in it.

I have a special request for prayers for my grandson who lost his father in a tragic accident last week-end. My grandson was with his dad when the accident happened so he witnessed everything. They were having fun in the first snow that had accumulated enough for riding with his dad on the snowmobile. Lots to carry for a 12 year old. Thank you.

Time for sharing a Scripture Blessing link. If you don't have a blog link to share a scripture, please share one in the comment section. Thank you.

Pictorial Tuesday

I so apologize, but there is no Pictorial Tuesday link up this week. With a recent tragic accident over the week-end, we lost a wonderful young man that was so close to our hearts. He was the father to our grandson and will be so missed. Our hearts are shredded.
I'm so sorry, but  I just haven't organized anything to post. It will be back up next week.

Sunday Scripture Blessings 1 13 19

Matthew 4 - Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward and hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

temp·ta·tion
/tem(p)ˈtāSH(ə)n/
noun
  1. the desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise.

"he resisted the temptation to call Celia at the office"

    synonyms:desireurgeitchimpulseinclination
"Mary resisted the temptation to answer her mother back"
    • a thing or course of action that attracts or tempts someone.

"the temptations of life in New York"

      synonyms:lure, allurement, enticementseductionattractiondrawpullinvitationMore
    • the tempting of Jesus by the Devil (see Matt. 4).
      noun: Temptation; noun: the Temptation

Oh to have the strength of Jesus when temptation comes calling. If I bake, I find myself indulging in it more than I should so I no longer really bake sweets that much. However, there is a Banana Bread that has called my name ever since I made it couple days ago. So, the devil is still doing his deeds in every day life, but we can turn to God and turn our backs on Satan. Live by the words that proceeded out of GOD's~ mouth, and it is a reminder. I still fail daily, but with the Word, I have a strong reminder.

New Year, new resolves that are quickly forgotten by a few weeks in so I really never have made resolutions. My one resolve, I guess, has always been to be the best person that I can especially in the eyes of my children. I lived by the motto that how, if I did it, could I then tell my children not to. However, being their own being, they did do some things that I would not have expected. They tried their wings, per se, they learned lessons, and have come through the other side not totally unscathed, but I call them pretty awesome, but then I'm the mom and a bit prejudice.  So, I see God in those terms. A wonderful example for us is what he wants, but in our humanness, we spread our wings, we fail, but we can always get back up. He is our helper in all things. Even against the temptations of Satan.

Hope the New Year is treating everyone well so far, and I appreciate all who stop by to share a blessing each Sunday. Thank you.

Sunday Scripture Blessings 1 6 19

In the beginning there was Adam and Eve.
Adam, Eve, Cain, Abel, Seth
Cain-Enoch who had Irad who had Mehujael, who had Methusael, who had Lamech
Lamech-Jabal, Jubal, and Tubal-cain
Seth-Enos
Lamech-Noah

Genesis 6:7-8 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

This Fall and Winter season so far has been rain. We have usually had a good snow by now, but it has only been rain. I'm not complaining as the temps in the 40's and 50's with the rain has been nice; at least for where we live because with the latest we did not get flooded. I'm sure we will not escape the snowy season, but when it rains our place has a mild flooding. This means no laundry can be done, no dishes, limited showers, and limited plumbing is available. During these times, I do reflect on Noah and how the first end of our population must have been. I cannot imagine water covering the entire Earth. We have seen some pretty horrible flooding in areas, and the havoc it brought, but the entire Earth. Praise Jesus that God had a change of heart for without his change of heart and the covenant of the Rainbow promise, we would not be here to enjoy this wonderful place they call Earth. The floods receded, Noah and his family were blessed, and God promised to never destroy again by water. Genesis 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Thanks for visiting the first Sunday Scripture Blessings link up of our New Year. The link up is below for sharing a Scripture Blessing. It can be a scripture from any of the Bibles of your choice. Mine above is from the King James Version. I started the new year reading from my Daily Wisdom for Women. It's a 365 Day Devotional Bible by Barbour Bibles. It shares scripture from the Old Testament, the New Testament, and also a wisdom literature from sometimes Psalms, Proverbs, etc.
