Pictorial Tuesday Link Up 4 9 2024

Flowers sprouting on Razzy and my walk. If any know what these are called, let me know. I'm clueless, but love their pretty color and shape.

CRAFTING:

Progress on my sock so far. Believe me, I'm thrilled to be this far along. I've been trying for months to cast these on. I crochet, I knit so not sure what my problem is with trying these. Maybe because has been long while since I've crocheted or knitted with this small of yarn. I got some new yarn to cast on to do a pair with double pointed needles. I am determined. lol

Some wash cloths done for my shop. More to make. They're my favorite to use.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Another week of tornadoes that we were in the path of again. This time, I went up to my sister's who has a basement. Luckily, it never materialized so I count myself fortunate and grateful.

This week is the total eclipse that we are in the path of for a total. I have the glasses, but not sure I'm going to go see. The town is excited since we're in the path and has expected lots of visitors and the fairgrounds had a mini fair starting over the weekend.

Blessings and hugs for a good week ahead. Link up is open for sharing photography, crafting, and/or thrifting finds.

Pictorial Tuesday Link Up 3 26 2024

This week, I'm scribbling about knitting. I have been trying and trying to master making socks on DPN's. I've started and ripped out so many times. So, decided I would try the magic loop method instead. That, once I caught on is going pretty good. I ordered new needles so that has helped, and working much better. So, with doing the magic loop knitting, it has also helped me get going on the DPN's. Go figure. lol I've crocheted forever, but new to knitting the last few years, then I quit for a while and just picked it back up. The knitting socks became a challenge that I'm determined to win. :)

I'm off to a start.

I am further than this because I got the cuff part done last evening, but no photo, and now I'm on to the leg part, but just a bit of it so far. I also, haven't taken a picture of my DPN cast on because it's only a few rows. I'm using 4 DPN instead of 5 in the size 1 (2.25mm).

I also have been doing a bit of crochet because my daughter saw crochet towel rings on Etsy and wanted me to order for her birthday. I told her I could make those in about 10-15 minutes. No need to order. So, sorry to the person selling the ones my dauther say, but I probably will be doing same on my Etsy once I update my shop.

So, I made her two and included a new towel.

This one, I'm not too proud of because as usual, I couldn't get the right yarn in my area, and no time to order so when I went to look, the closest I could find was macreme cord. It was so splitty and did not work up good at all, but she seemed to like it.

This one worked up okay.I

I also found a nice organizer for my yarn so I could have it handy when ready to knit or crochet. It wasn't a thrift store purchase either. lol It was new, and a great bargain.

Okay, sad story I'm throwing in. Remember couple weeks ago or maybe last month, I shared about the lake where we use to have our boat and camp lot? I also shared the history of the dance hall, the amusement part, and all that was there, and has been for years. First part of March, a tornado came through, actuall 8 tornados. It wiped out the lake area and killed three. It also went down the road where my aprtment is, but luckily it lifted back up, but traveled on then and did more damage. I was so lucky, and have never been so scared, but ended up not that bad for me. I don't have a basement in my little apartmen, but Razzy and I went into the bathroom with cushions from the couch. From the devastation I saw on news, there was no way we would have been safe in that bathroom. Blinds and windows were blowing like crazy, but then as quickly it quit. Must have been when it lifted up over my area. The lake area is devastated, and pretty much gone. So many lost properties, and sadly some their life. I hate those storms, and Ohio usually isn't prone to have them. I never want to be in one that is on the ground after that experience. In Ohio, we have storms and warning, but they usually never amount to much so we're use to ignoring them, but this one, people didn't. Also, the sirens that warn did a great job because I had no clue we were even to have bad weather, but when that went off, I turned on the TV and they were saying to seek shelter immediately. I'm sure others on here have had some storm experiences as well. I was taught to never say you hate anything, but I do hate those and bad storms. Sorry mom. :)

Hey, have a great week, and thanks for visiting me.

After the tonado story, had to share some flowers and a puppy face.

Pictorial Tuesday Link Up 6 20 2023

Queens Lace....or is it? Mm yeah, not testing to see which...😀

I'm weird because I just imagine the bugs all over these. haha

A few wild flowers...

Butterflys are so fun to watch their gentleness.

When you're learning to knit, and you knit a long piece, what do you do with it?

I found for some reason, I had this pretty purse kiss clasp lock so thought why not try it. It's cute. I just need to figure out how to line it to use unless I use as is.

A bit of Nature...

Pictorial Potpourri Tuesday Link Up 7 26 2020

This was just hanging around in my daughter's flower bed. Not sure if it's alive, and I didn't really want to find out. He was really big.

Some pops of color from the wild flower seeds I sowed this Spring. They're starting to look sickly because it has been so hot and dry in the very high 90's. We did finally get some rain so my grass would revive and I could mow it. I am watching one that I put in one of my planters because I think it's going to be a Sunflower. I'm excited if it is. Hope it makes it.

I seem to learn more in my old age that is strange to me. Over the many years, I've crochet bears, Halloween pumpkins, snowmen, Christmas stockings, etc for my kids. Now, I'm hearing more and more about crocheting what is called Amigurumi. So thought I'd get the needles out again and make one. This is my Owl. Not sure what to name him, but he's cute. My next, I think, will be a Yoda for my very much grown daughter who loves Yoda. I think I'm getting a bit found of him too. lol
Never to late to learn new terms for what I always just called a stuffed animal. 😊

I got the knitting needles back out too to keep my hands busy so they quit wanting to stuff food in my mouth. lol  Not sure what project that will be unless I finish my shawl I started in 2018 when I first tried to learn knitting.

Needs lots more rows.

Happy Tuesday. Please share a link up of your photography, crafts, and/or thrifting. Thanks.

Pictorial Tuesday Link Up 8 27 19 and crafting

Had my first experience with (c)Lindor Chocolates. Oh my, cannot believe I have never tried them before. Delicious...

This shawl is still a work in progress, but I think I'll love it when finished. Not sure yet if keeping or selling. I haven't worked on it since last winter.

The Shawl below is finally finished. It's my first one made since trying my hand at knitting the last couple years. I've always done crochet since a child, but never could quite get knitting until I really set my mind on it. The one below is called The Back Porch Shawl. Even though it is for beginners, I think it's lovely. Besides doing the yarn overs on the end, which makes a nice looking edge, I added a couple rows of yarn overs for variation, which the pattern doesn't. However, the one on (c)YouTube, she did a yarn over at the beginning and at the ends. If you're new to knitting or you just like really easy patterns and shawls, you can find the free pattern HERE.

Below is the link up for sharing what you've been up to with photography and/or crafting.

Pictorial Tuesday 6 12 18 Link Up And Some Knitting

Some may remember that I've always crocheted, loved to sew and do crafts since forever. Now though, I'm learning to knit. Below are a some pictures of my projects. I've made two hats and have followed along with The Casting On Couch on how to make a cable scarf. It's in process as well as making a very easy first shawl. Actually, I will be working on two shawls as I just purchased yarn today to start another bit more advanced one.

Some may have already seen my 2nd hat. Done except deciding if I want a pom pom  or tassel on it.

This is the cable scarf in process that I am following the pattern from The Casting On Couch. Check out her site for some great knitting information and pattern tutorials. I also found some great tips at WOOLANDTHEGANG YouTube site. If you click on my cable scarf and see the purple strands of yarn, I found that tip at woolandthegang and it is a life saver for if you goof up and have to go back. Just sewing it through where you know you've done okay so far and then if a mistake is made you can pull the stitches out back to that point and continue on. (And of course once the knitting project is done just simply pull out the sewn in threads). She explains it better than me. You'll find this tip at the 18:45 point in the video, but all the other tips are worth watching especially if you're new to knitting.

I had thought I might make stitch markers since I use to make jewelry and also saw that others make them too. These are the two I've made so far. (sorry not a great photo)

This shawl pattern I found free at loveknitting.com. It is done in three colors with white as the top color, but I'm only doing it in this rose color with white at the top. Not sure I'm really liking it, but is giving me practice on such a large set of circular needles. The next shawl that I'm going to start looks to be much prettier.

This is one of some of my first practicing with just knitting and learning not to drop stitches. Wasn't sure what to do with it, but then I found this really cute clasp on clearance at Hobby Lobby and then this practice became Voila - a small purse.

Just some of what I've been keeping myself busy with besides other crafts. Also trying my hand at learning Calligraphy, but that's for another day.

The Lilly bulbs that my son bought and planted when he moved back home for a bit about 7 years ago have bloomed. It's like a gift each year all over again.

Thanks for visiting Pictorial Tuesday. As always, I look forward to your photography sharing. You're next for linking up your photography, photography art from a photo or graphics.

I learned to make a digital prong so I'm sharing it today. You can download it HERE as a .png
Hopefully you will enjoy using it in your digital scrapbooking or however. Would love to see a link to how you used it.
