Sunday Scripture 12 14 2025 ~ Advent Joy

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross; despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that they might be glorified. Isaiah 61:3

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:2-4

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13

Sunday Scripture Blessing 12 7 2025 Advent

As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, it is marked with Advent. The First week of  Advent is HOPE, which began last Sunday. For my Advent count down, I am reading Luke. The first chapter emphasizes Jesus: ancestry, birth and early life.

  • An Angel announces the Birth of John the Baptist.
  • The Angel Gabriel announces Christ's Birth.
  • The HOPE of his coming.

Luke 1:1-80

This week in Advent is PEACE. Seek inner PEACE and harmony

  • Luke 2 Christ is Born. Joseph and Mary go to pay taxes that Caesar Augustus has announced.
  • The shepherds visit Jesus
  • Simeon's Prophecy; A light to lighten the Gentiles and the glory of thy people Israel.
Luke 2:1-52

  • Luke 3 - The Ministry of John the Baptist
  • Luke 4 - The Temptation of Christ
  • Luke 5 - The First Disciples Are Called
  • Luke 6 - Jesus Works on the Sabbath
So far December hasn't started so good for me. I was back in the hospital again this year. It started out with me having to be in and out of the hospital all during the first quarter of the year. Could use some prayers. Thank you. :)

Hope your month is going good. Prayers for all who might need them.

Sunday Scripture Blessing 11 30 2025

Today starts the first week of Advent - HOPE

Tree decorating is starting to make their appearance in homes, and brightly lit decorations don the outside of homes. We are in the first week of Advent ~ HOPE. After the year we've been having, there is always hope with Christ, and blessings of all kinds. We have the promise of Hope always. The trees and decorations are signs that all still have Hope of better days because we believe.

Reading Luke daily as a lead up to the celebration of Jesus' Birth and Christmas. The Book of Luke has 24 chapters. It is an entire account of Jesus' life.

Happy Sunday

Sunday Scripture Blessings 12 5 2021 ~ Advent ~ Peace

Lord Jesus, we are all tempted to live without peace. It is not easy for us to remember that our peace is ultimately found in our status as believers, like your children. Help us to see the times when we have lived without peace and forgive us for our transgression. Set our minds on you, that we may remember you are the prince of peace, and our security comes from you alone. Teach us that this peace is inward, everlasting, and can exist regardless of our circumstances. In whatever way you believe is best, teach us how to live in that peace every day. We ask for that in your holy name, Amen.

note: prayer taken from G. Connor is a freelance writer and journalist, with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Writing from Taylor University which you can find his advent meanings HERE

Second Advent: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Hebrews 9:28

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sancitification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace be multiplied. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Reading today Dec. 1st is from Isaiah 1:1-5:2

The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
1:2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the Lord hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
1:15-18 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now and let us reason together saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
2:5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.

The hope was in what was to come, and the love that is always.

Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 12 8 19

ADVENT:

O the hope of Israel, the saviour there - of in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tary for a night? Jeremiah 14:8

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without GOD in the world. But now in Christ Jesus ye who were sometimes far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:12-13

As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant, I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee: When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against they sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man. Zechariah 9:11-13

But I would not have you to be ignorant brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. 1 Thessalonians 4:13,16

But let us, who are of the day, be sober putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 1 Thessalonians 5:8

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great GOD and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Titus 2:13

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of GOD, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. For though I be absent in the flesh yet am I with you in spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. Colossians 2:2-5

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all Saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height, and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of GOD.hop
Ephesians 3:17-19

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye Love One Another; as I have Loved you, that ye also Love One Another. John 13:34

Sunday Scripture Blessings 12 23 18 Merry Christmas

For GOD so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

For GOD sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of GOD.
John 3:18

Have a Blessed Christmas everyone, and thanks for stopping by. Always appreciated. Link up is below.

Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 12 16 18

In those days came John the Baptist preaching in the wilderness of Judaea. And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness. Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for this it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Matthew 3:1-3,11,13-17

Philippians 4:4-5 Rejoice in the Lord alway; and again I say Rejoice. Let your moderation be known to all men. The LORD is at hand.

Next Sunday is Christmas Eve. Hard to believe since, seriously, December just started. Hope everyone is having a Blessed holiday season so far. Not sure when our family get together will be due to work schedules of all the kids. I think the plan so far is to just have a gathering sometime during Christmas week and have Pizza. Yay, Pizza means no work for this mama and grandma. The main thing will be time spent. So far, I've been blessed to spend some time with the grandbabykins (okay, grandson since he is a bit older now), but always a babykins to me. Been picking him up from school and hanging out until the parents get home. I don't seem him as much as I use to so this is a blessing for this grandma. Grandbabies are awesome. :)

Have a great week, and thank you for visiting and sharing a scripture blessing. I will probably set the link up to post next Sunday, but since it is Christmas Eve will understand if there are few visitors since it will most likely be a busy time and with family.

~MERRY CHRISTMAS~ to all who stop by Peabea Scribbles

Note Correction: Thanks to a kind visitor comment correction, next Sunday isn't Christmas Eve. It is on Monday. My oops. So, I will set up the link for Sunday as usual.

Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 12 9 18

There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest names Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and he name was Elisabeth. An they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years. St. Luke 1:5-7

And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard, ;and they wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. St. Luke 1:1-13

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth. To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call him JESUS.  He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. St. Luke 1:26-323

I know all are probably busy this season of the year, but I thank you for visiting. All are welcome to leave a scripture blessing in the link up below or in the comment section if you don't have a blog link.

Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate the Jewish holidays.

Have a great week.

Bible Journaling Advent ~ HOPE 12 8 17

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him - the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord.

He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions of the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra's den, and the yound child will put its hand into the viper's nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious.

HOPE

Pro_23:18  Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
Isa_8:17  I will wait for the LORD, who is hiding his face from the house of Jacob, and I will hope in him.
Jer_17:13  O LORD, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you shall be put to shame; those who turn away from you shall be written in the earth, for they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living water.
