Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 11 21 2021

A prophecy concering Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshire.

The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord takes vengeance on his foes and vents his wrath against his enemies. The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet. He rebukes the sea and dries it up; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither and the blossoms of Lebanon fade. The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, the world and all who live in it. Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; the rocks are shattered before him.

The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him, but with an overwhelming flood he will make an end of Nineveh; he will pursue his foes into the realm of darkness.

NAHUM 1:1-8

I've rarely read Nahum, but thought would share some of this scripture today.

Just some of my thankfulness. Now your turn:

Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 12 6 2020

Isaiah 1:16-18 Wash you, make you clean, put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Isaiah 2:11,17 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low; and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

Isaiah 6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.

Isaiah 7:14-15 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 2 9 2020

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble.
May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children.
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us - yes,
establish the work of our hands.   Psalm 90:14-17 NIV
That we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
With Love, it is not hard to sing for joy each day. When we share Love, we share our joy with others. Sometimes, Love is shown by a simple hello or a smile. It is Love for another of our human race. God shared his Love through his Son, and when we remember that, Love comes naturally.
Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble.
It would be hard to be glad when we feel afflicted or have years of trouble. Moses in this prayer was understanding and realizing and asking God how much longer they would be oppressed. Sometimes, our troubles seem like it is forever before God answers our prayers, but when he does, the time is melted away as we see his need for time of our reflection. A learning curve, you might say, that is needed for us to understand.
May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children.
So many ways God reveals understanding and his splendor if we just pay attention. Or at least that's how I feel when I'm more in tune with God.
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us - yes, establish the work of our hands.
God guided me through life with the work that made me feel fulfilled. For someone else, the jobs that I did in life before retirement maybe would have seemed humdrum or not enough for someone else, but God knew me well. Even in retirement, he still leads the work of my hands. This passage also reminds me of some of the idle hands scripture:
1 Timothy 5:13 - And withal they learn [to be] idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
1 Thessalonians 5:14 - Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all [men].
Proverbs 31:27 - She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Not being idle, God knew was a good thing for we humans.

Note: The above is just my interpretation of how I try to understand this scripture, and may not be the same for all as I am in no way qualified to teach scripture. Any sharings of how others interpret is welcome as always.

Wanting to say thank you to all the lovely people who visit my blog and link up with blessings on Sunday. With the visitors and links and/or comments, I have ventured on to some lovely blogs to visit. It is great to see the scriptures shared or photographs. It gives me, especially, a view of how others see and interpret scripture, and I find that there are scriptures that I sometimes need to give a second or third look because I just skimmed over them at times. Thank you all for the visits. They are appreciated.

Blessings for this Sunday to all, and Happy Valentine's Day to everyone this coming Friday.

Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 11 3 19

Thessalonians 5:23-24  Ephesians 5:19-20  Colossians 3:14

It's NOVEMBER!! I am amazed at how fast we have gotten to this next to last month of the year. Mine started with tragedy of my grandson's dad being killed in a snowmobile accident in the first few weeks of January. Grandson who is thirteen was with him and was not hurt at all (Thankful). I will say that about a week prior, I felt an urgent -down to the knees - type of urge to say a prayer that my grandson would be kept safe. In my mind when that happened, I thought it was because of the school shootings around the country that have been happening and I do worry about him at school and other children as well as people everywhere anymore with the shootings that have happened in our country. Little did I know that few days later on that weekend with his dad that would happen. I can only be Thankful and believe that God's hands came down and kept him safe. He was thrown, but no injury whereas his dad was gone immediately.

Then in May, as I've already told you that my hubby and piece of my heart was gone in May. Got up that morning and within about 15 minutes he was gone. I ended up in the ER. Shock can do some strange things to the body. I also think that comes in the form of protection when our body does that. I have learned there is no way to prepare for the death of a spouse - even though I knew he had COPD and the end results of that, and over the months and years that he had that, I would think about that and how it would be - but there is no way to ward off the grief, and it is immense. But, leaning on God and people who care and even the group that I have come to know each Sunday here, has helped more than you guys can know. I pray for peace each day to carry me, and am Grateful that it is helping. And my kids have more than stepped up for me more than I could have imagined too.

Then in August, my daughter-in-law's mother died. She had been sick for a while, and suffered a lot.

So, I am in no hurry for a New Year to roll around. I'm still trying to contemplate this one. :). I have taken a job working part-time, which helps get me out and about with people. I fear I was becoming a hermit, and I've never been a social butterfly anyway as I can tend to be introverted.

Anyway, enough about me. I hope this year has treated all that visit in a good way, and November and the holidays will be a blessing. Thanks for stopping by, and hope you can share a scripture blessing. If you don't blog, just share in the comment section.

Have a great Sunday. Linkup is below.

Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 9 29 19

1 Corinthians 15 is talking about Resurrection.

Then cometh the end when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to GOD, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law, But thanks be to GOD, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. KJV

Sunday Scripture Blessings 6 23 19 Link Up

Hello, and Happy Sunday. Trying again since think things may be resolved with inlinkz link up.

And the story of Moses leading God's people out of Egypt begins.

Exodus 3:13-14
And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? and God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM, and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

As I read in the book of Exodus, I have always wondered, Why? God hardens Pharaoh's heart, why would he do that?

I counted twelve plagues that God sent on the Pharaoh and his people, and each time God hardened the heart of Pharaoh so that he did not let the people go.

1 Rod turned to a serpent
2 Waters turned to blood
3 Frogs everywhere
4 Lice
5 Flies
6 Cattle died
7 Boils
8 Pestilence
9 Hail
10 Locusts
11 Complete darkness
12 Death to all firstborn of the Pharaoh and his people

Each time though, God saved the people of Israel from suffering any of those plagues.

This time reading through this story, it dawned on me that had Pharaoh bent to Moses and said, "Okay, your people can go." What would really be the lesson in all this? Of course God knew that if he didn't hardened Pharaoh's heart, then there would be no lesson learned. God knew he had to show Pharaoh that he is the LORD. Pharaoh, each time, tried to have his Wise men and sorcerers compete and do the same, but they could not compete with the plagues that God sent.

Exodus 5: 2
And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go.

Or at least that's my take on this scripture in reading it this time around.

I appreciate all who have stopped by each week to visit and share. Thank you.

Sunday Scripture Blessing 6 16 19

Jesus, such a smart man as he walked the earth. Sometimes the way we perceive things is not always how it should be. Eating with unclean hands, as Jesus explained, did not mean we would put dirt into our mouths which would then defile us. I am one who does always wash their hands, but I'm sure there are cases of people who are so starved that they will eat just about anything, anywhere, and with unclean hands. That does not the man make.....however, if his heart is unclean with bad thoughts, bad wishes for others or just plain evil, then he is defiled. So, with that thinking, it is sad that some are homeless, baths are not readily available nor is hand washing so if they are handed something to eat, and their hands are not clean, they do not defile themselves? Same with how someone might look at someone more unfortunate than themselves. If they eat with dirty hands because they have no choice, but the one who thinks badly of them, of these two, which is defiled? A rule or law can be good in one circumstance, but should not be followed in other circumstances. Jesus wanted us to allow for times when;  is it really necessary to hold fast to thinking that is not that important?

Hope all have a Blessed Sunday. Thanks for visiting.

Sunday Scripture Blessings 5 19 19

Thank you to all who stopped by last Sunday and visited and/or left me a comment. And thank you for the prayers. It was a blessing. I miss the love of my life so much. Still cannot believe he is gone. Our children have been amazing. The day it happened, I did end up in the hospital. The physical pain was unbearable, but thankfully, it wasn't a heart attack. It was just the shock and anxiety, I guess.

Please share a scripture blessing. You're next. Thank you.
