Pictorial Potpourri Tuesday Link Up 10 4 2022 ~ Welcome to October

Recycled from another year, but works....

Signs of Fall

The sunsets even seem more amber

Hats and headbands come out as well as jackets

Cozy fires with jackets and something warm to drink

I took a photo of this pretty pop of color in the ditch across from my house that I thought added so much to the other drying weeds. I posted it on my Facebook as a weed, and a friend told me this is actually an Aster. Looked it up and says some Asters tend to get a little wild so is why they are thought of as weeds, but they're not. Says they spread through the Fall. The little purple daisies are so pretty. If weren't so many weeds over there, I might be tempted to take some to grow although they do go wild.

Hope Fall is awesome for everyone. It is already cold here like 50's and 40's already. Last night was in the 30's. I did end up turning the furnace on. Razzy was getting cold; I could brave it...not. 😀

Not turning on worked for while, but then as the days and weeks went on, the chill does tend to spread through the house.

Prayers and continuing prayers are being said for those in the path of the Florida hurricane. So sad. Hope everyone you might know is safe. Those that I know are, thankfully.

Have a good week.

Pictorial Potpourri Tuesday Link Up 8 2 2022

Didn't know what this flower was among my wildflowers in the planters so looked it up by using Google picture scan. This came up as a Malope. A beautiful, hardy annual and an old cottage garden favourite. A splendid and easily grown plant for the border, the flowers, which are useful for cutting, are produced in profusion all Summer. A genus of three species in the mallow botanical family. Of the three species, Malope trifida is often used as an ornamental plant. Says in warmer climates it can be a perennial.

Just an interesting tidbit since I really do not know flowers at all. In re-looking at this photo from last week, I wonder if that is a spider on the second bloom. Did not notice when photographing. hmmm

My grandson gets married next month, and his fiance had her bridal shower in what use to be the train depot. Trains stopping are a past era, but the facility is still nice. Trains still roar by, but no longer passenger trains.

I've been waiting to see if this was actually a sunflower growing in my planter. Well, as I'm not a green thumb, and with this hot, hot weather I forgot to water. I skipped a couple days, and it looks so limp and the flowers are as you see. I did water last evening, and it looks more spry, but I'm sure I injured it. Still, it looks pretty, I think.

Razzy's Summer allergy itch has been in full swing so he had to have a Vet visit. Cannot believe the outragious prices anymore, but he was miserable. So far meds are helping. He was not a happy camper with me, but he does a great job at being mild at the Vets.

The only thrifting I did was a coffee mug. Just not really much worth buying there at the moment.

Sending blessings that August goes great for everyone. Thank you so much for stopping by to see what I've been scribbling. Link up is open. Thanks for sharing...if can visit and see what others are up to with their photography, crafting/thrifting and digiscrapping. 😊
