The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee: Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions. Jacob is one of my favorite people in the Bible. A bit disappointed when first reading of how he and his mom misled the dad into giving Jacob the birthright away from Esau, but seems, as things go with God, things worked out the way they were suppose to. Jacob and Esau made amends eventually. The story of love of Jacob for Rachel would be-still any woman's heart. He worked for years for the right to marry her. Then there's the story of his mean sons to the favorite son, Joseph. But all and all, Jacob went to his death with things in their right place. Joseph was restored to him, and the brothers knew the shame of their actions. He was able to bless his sons; the twelve tribes of Israel.
