Sunday Scripture 9 14 2025

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; discretion shall preserve thee and understanding shall keep thee; to deliver thee from the way of the evil man; from the man that speaketh froward (means preverse) things; who leave thy paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness; who rejoices to do evil and delights in the frowardness of the wicked.

Proverbs 2:10-14

Observation Once we let God into our heart, we will have the wisdom to use the knowledge that we have to attain the goodness that following God's commands allow us. We will love our understanding of the goodness it brings.

Prayer Blessed Father, how awesome is the things of your ways that you give daily. May not be what I think it should be, but you remind me of the blessings I do have in my life. Thank you for the continued knowledge of this. Amen

Sunday Scripture 9 7 2025

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints, and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Hebrews 4:12-13

  • God knows all and he knows us.
  • Live life as though a thoughtful parent who loves you as Jesus does is right there beside you in all you do. God's word is sharp as a teaching parent and when needed it is a reminder of how our actions should be same as a loving parent
Happy Sunday, and have a Great Week

Sunday Scripture 8 31 2025

In the 40th year, Moses spoke to the children of Israel all that the Lord had in commandment of them. Deuteronomy is the 5th book of Old Testament, and reminder of the law. They are to possess the land sworn to their fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Leaders are chosen from each tribe. Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man for the judgment is God's; and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it. Deuteronomy 1:17

The Lord your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes. Deuteronomy 1:30

Happy last day of August for this year. Hope all are well.

Have a nice holiday weekend if you are in the USA. It's Labor Day holiday. No special plans here except to maybe take the furbaby for a walk. Razzy loves going out for walks.

Sunday Scripture ~ 8 10 2025

Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools dispise wisdom and instruction.

1:33

But who so hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Where I've been. After a heart attack and three hospital stays, I just wasn't up to much. But am doing better and feel like I need to get back to Bible journaling. I do miss those who always stopped by when I was sharing the Sunday Scripture Blessings link up so hope all who use to stop by, and ones that are now visiting are doing great and enjoying their Summer or whatever season wherever you are.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have been having a really hot Summer, but I'm blessed to be enjoying it. I turned 79 this year so you never know what lies ahead, but trusting in God for whatever that may be. I've been enjoying the flowers that I planted in pots this year. I did some seeds, but they aren't doing the best. I did see a new bloom this week. According to Google search, this is called Blanket Flower, also known as Gailardia. Says it is native to dry areas and known for their vibrant red and yellow blooms.
Picture Below:
The flower at the top is an Aftrican violet. It was doing terrible, and I read that if the leaves aren't growing or the blooms, it may be because it is in too large of a container. Mine was because I had transplanted it to a larger one. I put it back into a smaller one, and eventually, more leaves grew and then it bloomed. I was so excited the morning I walked into my craft room and saw the blooms. I think I actually squealed. lol
God's earth and all it's nature as well as my Violet and Summer flowers are pleasing to the eye. He gives us amazing things to make us smile.
Thanks for visiting, and have a great Sunday and week ahead.
Sunday Scripture Blessings 4 9 2023
 God's Final Word: His Son
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his beings, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he inherited is superior to theirs.
Hebrews 1:1-9
Happy Easter Sunday. May all be blessed with the risen Son.
Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 12 8 19
ADVENT:
O the hope of Israel, the saviour there - of in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tary for a night? Jeremiah 14:8
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without GOD in the world. But now in Christ Jesus ye who were sometimes far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:12-13
As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant, I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee: When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against they sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man. Zechariah 9:11-13
But I would not have you to be ignorant brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. 1 Thessalonians 4:13,16
But let us, who are of the day, be sober putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 1 Thessalonians 5:8
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great GOD and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Titus 2:13
That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of GOD, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. For though I be absent in the flesh yet am I with you in spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. Colossians 2:2-5
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all Saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height, and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of GOD.hop
Ephesians 3:17-19
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye Love One Another; as I have Loved you, that ye also Love One Another. John 13:34
Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 9 8 19
I started re-reading the Bible again this year. At first I was doing my daily devotions and reading along with it. However, when I first started reading the entire Bible through in 2013, I followed along with a group called Good Morning Girls. I decided maybe I'd do better to go back and follow along what scripture reading plan they are currently doing. Luckily, when I checked their site, they are just starting the book of 1 Corinthians. They do the SOAK method (S-stands for scripture, O-stands for observation, A-stands for application, K-stands for kneeling in prayer). They provide the materials and I print off their plan rather than buying the booklets from Amazon. Anyway, I feel if I have a writing plan that helps me to stay on track with my reading.
S - Scripture above
O - (and this only my take on it and never intend to share for any influence): Paul is explaining that as a new Christian, we take baby steps. He is explaining that he and the other ministers are only vessels through which GOD teaches, but GOD will impart the knowledge through his spirit that swells in believers.
A - To know where the true knowledge of GOD comes. Not from men/teachers who put their slant on God's teaching, but from God as he helps to discern the truth through the Holy Spirit.
K-Help me to know when I'm listening God's voice, and not to fools and foolishness.
The Scripture isn't the complete chapter, but just one taken that spoke to me. Also, Apollos was a Jew that became a Christian, and ministered.
Would love to hear some methods you use to study.
Have a great Sunday, and thanks for sharing. Link up is below.
Sunday Scripture Blessings 12 23 18 Merry Christmas
For GOD so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
For GOD sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of GOD.
John 3:18
Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 11 11 18
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him.
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7 KJV
Sometimes, I use eSword for Bible reading as well as my hands on Bible.It's a handy tool for snipping parts to add to a digital graphic, etc. as well as reading and cross references. It is packed with various tools like journaling, study tools, etc.  eSword is a free Bible study for PC that has different Bibles you can load (some free, some not) as well as commentary from different sources.. If you want more information, you can find about it and the download HERE.
Below is a daily devotion that accompanied the scripture Colossians 2:6-7.
If we have received Christ himself in our inmost hearts, our new life will manifest its intimate acquaintance with him by a walk of faith in him. Walking implies action. Our religion is not to be confined to our closet; we must carry out into practical effect that which we believe. If a man walks in Christ, then he so acts as Christ would act; for Christ being in him, his hope, his love, his joy, his life, he is the reflex of the image of Jesus; and men say of that man, "He is like his Master; he lives like Jesus Christ." Walking signifies progress. "So walk ye in him"; proceed from grace to grace, run forward until you reach the uttermost degree of knowledge that a man can attain concerning our Beloved. Walking implies continuance. There must be a perpetual abiding in Christ. How many Christians think that in the morning and evening they ought to come into the company of Jesus, and may then give their hearts to the world all the day: but this is poor living; we should always be with him, treading in his steps and doing his will. Walking also implies habit. When we speak of a man's walk and conversation, we mean his habits, the constant tenor of his life. Now, if we sometimes enjoy Christ, and then forget him; sometimes call him ours, and anon lose our hold, that is not a habit; we do not walk in him. We must keep to him, cling to him, never let him go, but live and have our being in him. "As ye have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him"; persevere in the same way in which ye have begun, and, as at the first Christ Jesus was the trust of your faith, the source of your life, the principle of your action, and the joy of your spirit, so let him be the same till life's end; the same when you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, and enter into the joy and the rest which remain for the people of God. O Holy Spirit, enable us to obey this heavenly precept.
It's November, and we've had our first dusting of snow. Seems early, but I remember years past when we had snow as early as October. It would sometimes pile down and stay. Christmas break always brought ice skating on ponds. Lately though, the weather doesn't compliment ice skating because they do seem more mild or the ice skating would happen more in February and even March. Or perhaps, I've just aged and am not out and about to know if one goes to a pond anymore to skate rather than an inside arena. We do have those about an hour away from my town.
Soon Thanksgiving will be upon us. I'm ready for a big meal family time, and hoping the children and their families' schedules might allow them a visit.
Thank You to all our veterans on this Veterans Day.
So on to the scripture sharing. Thank you to all who stop by and leave a link. It is such a boost to my week, and hopefully to others that you visit.
The word that came from the LORD to Jeremiah 32:36-34
I will bring them again unto this place
I will cause them to dwell safely
And they shall be my people; I will be their God
I will give them one heart, one way ~ for the good of them and their children after
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not
Behold, I will bring it health
I will cure them and reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth
I will cleanse them from all their iniquity; I will pardon all their iniquities
Again there shall be heard in this place:
The voice of Joy, the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good, for his mercy endureth forever
I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah
Sunday Scripture Blessings with Link Up ~ A Salute To All Veterans ~ 5 27 18
When young, all I knew of war was my grandparents and mom telling about the world war. They still hadn't gotten over being so careful to save and the bread lines, but times were getting better. I knew nothing of war until after I was first married. The draft in America was common. At 18, the young men had to sign up. Then Vietnam happened. The young friends were beginning to know what their draft number meant. Some worried when they would be called, some were excited to go and serve in a foreign country. Some had never traveled any further than our home town.
By the grace of God, my new husband was saved from the war because President Kennedy said any married man didn't have to go. We were relieved.
Then we received the news that my younger sister's boyfriend and friend since middle school who had been drafted right out of high school was killed within the first few months that he was in Vietnam. He was only 18. If you knew Allan, you knew a smile would be on your face because he was always ready with a way to make you laugh. Day by day we would hear of friend's names that were killed. It was a long war. It was a hard time for quite a while for my sister. Life had changed drastically from the carefree years of youth.
This Memorial Week-end and every day, I honor the ones who make my America safe by their heroism. Thank you to all Veterans who serve in any capacity. I admire and respect them, and hope all have a nice Memorial holiday. I say a prayer for all veterans that life blesses each and every one, and if it doesn't that God intercedes and gives them all that they need and deserve. I know America is lacking in how well we do take care of our vets, and that is sad.
Below is a link to a list of ones who died from Ohio during Vietnam if you would like to look at it. I honor their names:
http://www.virtualwall.org/istate/istatoh.htm
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends. John 15:13 NIV
Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. Psalm 82: 3-4
A poem I wrote to honor my adopted POW
A POEM FROM A MOTHER
Bring my baby home.....at least for a day
Even if I can't wipe the tears away -
At least I can see him one more time...
And then in my heart, I'll know he's fine -
He was so young when he went away....
he had no idea it would be such a long stay -
He has suffered so much for you and I...
please bring my baby home before I die -
I just need to gaze on his face once more...
So long since he left our shore -
I'll hold him in such a long embrace...
Ahhhh..just to see that face -
It's weathered, It's worn...He looks so forlorn -
He has longed to be home for so many years...
He long ago forgot how to cry many tears -
He doesn't even know or remember who he set out to be...
He only remembers that he saved you and me And
the wonderful land once more that our forefathers named
when they reached this shore
"AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL"
"AMERICA THE FREE"
That's what my baby did for you and me -
PLEASE SET HIM FREE
He didn't ask much...
He was so proud to go do his duty with the rest of the crowd -
But he just wants to come home now and rest...
He is so weary -
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. - Proverbs 3:5-8
The week turned nice here in Ohio toward the end, and the warmth was wonderful for being outdoors. Seems maybe Spring has finally arrived. I'm keeping my eye on something that is growing by my garage. If it is what I think, it may be a the bulbs from a lovely plant my daughter gave me last Mother's Day. She gave it in a potted plant as a beautiful flower, and I'm thinking that I did take it outside once the blooms had died and planted in hopes it would return. I'll take a picture and share later if that is what it ends up being.
Hope everyone enjoyed a good week. Now it's time for sharing a scripture blessing. Please try to visit one other that links up. Thanks.
In the time of those kings, the GOD of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.  Daniel 2:44 NIV [Luke 1:31-33; Rev. 11:15]
Have a blessed Sunday. I hope all had a nice Easter and week full of blessings.
Sunday Scripture Blessings 8 20
We see so many times in the word that God turns things the way they should go. He did it for Mordecai in the book of Esther. He does it for us every day even when we don't stop and realize.
From my morning reading this Saturday morning:
The little bird that sings in the tree ~ he sings for me. My gift from God in His creation this morning. The song he sings reminds that God is in control. The song reminds that if a little creature as a bird can sing so beautifully ~ how much more are our songs with Love in our hearts. We can rage, we can wail, but to no avail ~ God is in control.
In my daily reading, God is reminding me that when we speak, we should speak with Love ~ Love begets Love and Hatred only fuels worse than hate. And sometimes in that hate, God will use it to send the hater to the gallows (Haman). As in the book of Esther, we are reminded that there is a purpose for all things. A purpose for Queen Vashti to not come before her King. A purpose for Esther to replace Vashti as Queen.
I love the stillness of morning as I sit outside reading the word and drinking my coffee. Razzy loves it too as he accompanies me and lays on the cool cement. My view is not pretty like a well kept neighbors yard ~ rather it is an abandoned building that parts have quickly become a field of weeds. Not even pretty weeds. But as I gaze, a Butterfly I see. Even in the ugly, beauty can be found. God does that. The butterfly may not have found what he needed in the well mowed yards, but he is provided for among the clover in the weed field. As I ponder, I realize that for now, we will still have the ugly until God himself mows it all down. For now, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and beauty still abounds. Have Faith.
You're next for sharing a Scripture. Thank you.
Advent ~ Hope Day 3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively HOPE by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. To an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that fadeth not away reserved in heaven for you who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
1 Peter 1:3-5
As the trees go up this month and the nativity is placed, among the delight of the Christmas season is the Hope that came as a newborn. It is the month of Jesus' birthday, and as I say Happy Birthday Jesus, I am more pleased that he lives on in the Holy Spirit that abides each day with me. He chose me as he chose every human, even in the times that we are not aware, he loves one and all.
In the past few weeks, with the scars of an election that left many feeling not quite what to think of how the future might be, I can only turn to my trust in the plan of a God who loves all of us. I am saddened by the hurt that is prevalent these days. In my heart, I feel led to believe that things will turn out as they should. As the scripture says, I am rejoicing in the HOPE, and as hard as it may seem, being Patient in whatever tribulation may result, and constant in my prayer for all people in this entire world because of God's love for each and everyone.
My tree is up, but as I was thinking just today, Christmas is about Jesus' birth, but to a mom, the wonder of my Christmases over the years was when little ones were excited about the Christmas morning. Now they are all grown, my excitement level just is not the same for the Christmas season. Jesus is with us always, but how I miss those little ones and the wonder of them.
