Pictorial Tuesday 9 1 2026

I'm sorry if this is a duplicate post. I don't remember if I posted this yet. These teeny tiny little berries are growing among the grass in my yard. (the photo makes them look larger than they are) I'm assuming that one time or another there was a strawberry patch that someone had planted. A friend told me they're just wild strawberries that appear sometimes. Anyway, however they got here, they are adorable little things. :)

If I had the patience, and more time to cultivate, I'd dig some up and try planting them as strawberry plants and see how they do. They were here last year too.

Before long it'll be this time of year. Happy September to all. Hoping the month goes great for everyone.

(I have a second surgery tomorrow so I'm posting this on Monday. Should be able to see better again as the cataracts will all be gone. Yay!) Kids now can't take my keys away. hahahaha   j/k they weren't talking that yet anyway. :) This mama loves to be on the go!!

Pictorial Tuesday 8 11 2926

When I'm out in my back yard, I got curious about what kind of leaves are on the trees and bushes and decided to investigate. I know nothing about foliage so here's what I found.

This foliage resembles winter Honeysuckle (Lonicera fragrantissima), a dedciduous shrub known for blue-green leaves. It shares characteristics with Japanese Honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica), an invasive  vine often identified by its opposite leaf arrangement. Another possibility is Tatarian Honeysuckle (Lonicera tatarica), which features smooth, blue-green leaves similar to those shown.

The plant is highly likely to be Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum), a dificult-to-eradicate invasive species. I is characterized by broad, space-shaped leaves, and the images show typical spotting and discoloration. This plant spreads rapidly and can form dense thickets that crowd out native vegetation. Eradication requires persistence, as it can regrow from small pieces of root.

This plant is identified as Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia). It is a climbing vine recogniced by its leaves, which typically feature five leaflets radiating from a central point. Whie not as dangerous as poison ivy, the sap can cause skin irritation in sensitive individuals, and its berries are toxic to humans.

This image exhibits foiliage with yellow mottling, mosaic patters, or yellow blothches. These symptoms are consistent with potential plant virus infections, such as Brugmansia mosaic virus or Potato Virus Y. Alternative causes for similar leaf discolouration include fungal infections, nutrient deficiencies like manganese or magnesium, or environmental damage from ozone.

This picture is poison ivy (Toxicodendron radicans). It is characterized by compound leaves arranged in bunches of three leaflets. The plant contains urushiol oil, which causes severe skin irritation and itching in most people. Identification features include a middle leaflet with a longer stalk than the two side leaflets, and leaves that can be glossy or matte.

this image features plants with leaves consistent with dogwood species, specifically appearing similar to the Kousa dogwood (Cornus kousa) or Cornelian cherry (Cornus mas). Some images show dark, berry-like fruits developing on the branches, which is characteristic of certain dogwood cultivars during the summer. Other identified possibilities in similar foliage include commnon buckthorn (Rhamnus .cathartica) an invasive species with similar dark berries but different leaf margins. To accurately distinguish between these plants, it is helpful to look closely at the leaf edges-dogwood leaves typically have smooth margins while buckthorn leaves are toothed.

The plant in the image resembles a pecan tree (Carya illinoinensis). It features compound leaves with multiple oblong or lanceolate leaflets. Similar leaves can also belong to other species in the Carya genus, such as the water hickory (Carya aquatica). These trees are commonly identified by their pinnate compound leaf structure

Just for fun to see what Goodle says. hahahaha

This scene shows a black and brown dog, possibly a Schnauzer (nope, it's a Morkie (Yorkie Maltese mixture) sleeping comfortably on a plush gray blanket placed on a wooden rocking chair. The dog is wearing a blue harness. The rocking chair is positioned indoors, likely in a living area or near a door.
Yep, that's Razzy. He's had a sponge bath because at the moment,  I can't give him a full bath even though he does need one. lol That is is favorite chair when he can't be on my lap. When I say go to your night night chair sometimes he obeys. hahaha He turned 15 this July and is still very active.

So, guess it's good to know what is growing behind my house. I've never been allergic to poison ivy and could pull it out, but nice to know in case some young ones or others would visit and decide to mess around in the bushes. Most don't sound very pleasant. They're not my bushes or trees that line the back yard separating from the neighbors. They belong to the mobile home park I live in and rent the lot from.

Hope August is treating everyone good so far. Have a happy week.

Pictorial Tuesday 7 28 2026

One year when the grandson was little and playing at a local park, I spied this interesting looking flower/weed? Had never seen one like it before. When I got home, I looked it up, and it is or similar to the Chinese Lantern flower. Sadly, when I was at the park later, the flower was gone. I should have tried to take some seeds, but later I did see where the Chinese Lantern flowers are grown from a bulb.

I haven't seen any again since back then. How fun some flowers just are!

I miss the butterflys. This one was on my flowers one year quite a bit ago. Haven't seen a pretty butterfly in ages. And, that is very sad.

A favorite flower that I photographed out and about when we use to have a place at a lake about an hour away. I've never planted any although I really like this flower. Not sure why I never have. hmmmm?

Hope everyone has a great week ahead. The link up is open below for sharing your photography. Thanks for visiting.

Note: There won't be a Pictorial Tuesday next week as I'm having surgery, but will be back the week after. :)

Abandoned Railroad Track

RANDOM WALK IN THE WOODS PHOTOS

Happy Tuesday. Update on the ribs. I am doing much better and the pain to breathe seems to be gone for the most part. I was fortunate that after the scan it showed that the area around the ribs was just swollen, and no problem with the head scan since I'm on two blood thinners. Well, enough of old people health issues. Now, I'm back to more fun things. Except:

We had another craft fair this past Sunday. Again, only lookers for the most part, and not a big attendance of people at all. Either people just aren't in the market for what I home make and/or artwork at a craft show or we just don't make the right things, so my sister and I are pretty much done. I think to do craft fairs you probably need to go all out with tents for outdoor festivals, and travel, and at our age that just doesn't seem anything that would be feasible or maybe we're just chicken. (cock-a-doodle-do)  Sorry, had to. lol

Hope all are happy and prayers for all to be in the best of health at all times. Thank you so much for visiting and sharing your photography, crafts, digital art or just a comment. :)

Me and my sisters at a popular tourist spot out on Lake Erie some years ago. Can you tell how short my younger sister is in this big chair?  I could hardly get up in it. My younger sister's wonderful son surprised us with a visit for the day all on him. You take a boat out to the island. There are places to stay, and people live out there, but we only spent the day riding around on the golf cart and seeing the sights. A really fun memory. And yes, we did taste a wine at this place, and it was delicious. :) And then on with the day.

Fun Memories!!

Pictorial Tuesday 7 7 2026

Today is a week and a day since I fell and hurt the ribs. Needless to say for anyone who has hurt their ribs before, the pain is constant, but I wanted to get the link up for sharing so photographers can share and visit other photographers. Link up is open below and thanks to all who stops by.

If you celebrate the 4th of July holiday, I hope everyone had a chance to celebrate with their family and friends. Hubby and I always went out on the boat and watched the fireworks over the water so I do miss him and that when the 4th rolls around. It was a quiet 4th for me, but I did hear a lot of fireworks going off in all the surrounding neighborhoods, and some from towns not that far away.

Just a lonely abandoned. tire.

I really don't have much to share this week. Hope if you celebrated Father's Day where you are that everyone that's a Dad or an inspiration to anyone had a nice day on Sunday. I did remember this year to send cards to my two boys who are amazing Fathers.

Have a great week. Link up is open below for photography sharing.

Just some random sunsets and sky photos. I'm not sure that second photo is mine, but I think it's so pretty. If it's yours or anyone's you know, please let me know so I haven't stepped on any toes or copyrights.

Hope May is going good for all you guys who stop by. I cannot believe we are at Memorial weekend already. This weekend is it. Sister and I have two craft fairs this weekend. So far things haven't been so hot. I think the weather is a contributing factor since it has been mostly rainy so hardly anyone has shown up at the fairs. The one last weekend, they ended it early because of all the customer no shows. I can't blame people though because this dreary weather, I don't think I would want to venture out either. It's been like cold Fall or Winter weather. It's calling for rain all this coming weekend so we'll see. Oh well, it's something to get this old gal moving and out of the house. lol

I was thinking I wasn't going to do flowers this Summer, but I did buy myself a Dahlia today and planted it. I have to have a Dahlia each Summer. It's my favorite. I should save the bulbs, but I just don't. My bad. :)
