Welcome to Sunday Scripture Blessings. I thought maybe I would go over what my posting is all about for those who might be new. Each Sunday, I post a Scripture Blessing to share. Those who would like, are welcome to link up a Blessing. There really are no rules to my meme. Just a blessing that is shared with a link to your blog posting so others can come visit and maybe leave a comment of thank you for your blessing. I do ask that you link to the Scripture blog posting rather than to your main blog so it is easier to find your sharing. If that isn't possible than any way you can share is a blessing; either with a link or a comment blessing is always heartwarming too. Thank you.
Feel free to take my Sunday Scripture Blessing button. Code is found on the side menu.
Today, I'm sharing a photo of my Lily flowers that are just now beginning to bloom. This, itself, is also a blessing to me. My middle son who came home for a bit about six years ago, bought the bulbs for these and planted them. Each year as they return, I am blessed for his lovely gift. I call them my Jerry Lily. :) I am just not much of a gardener so each year I am so tickled when the flower pops open because they really don't take much care or at least they haven't from me. Just a drink of water and some food once in a while. Love my Lilies.
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:17-18 NIV

Lovely photo. Your Scripture is so appropriate in light of the latest terror attacks. So sad for our world. Jesus is the answer.
ReplyDeleteHi Julie, Such a treat to see your visit each week. I find myself so looking forward to my visitors. Our world is truly sad right now, but I try to remember that there probably has been other times when it seemed the same for many for our ancestors in times past, and thank God we are lucky to have him to lean on. He definitely is the answer. ~hugs 'n blessings~
DeleteThat verse never fails to comfort and bless me. Your lilies are beautiful and such a sweet gift that keeps on giving from your son!

My lilies are in full bloom too and they are absolutely beautiful. My mom and I gave them to each other for Mother's Day last year and to see them come back bigger and more brilliant reminds me of our bond and makes me give thanks to God each time it rains!
ReplyDeleteHi Jamie, I know...it's such fun to see the buds begin to have a bit of color and then a great surprise when I walk out and boom...there they are all open a glorious. What a sweet thing that you and your mama exchanged those. What a wonderful give to have and remember each other year after year. I had never looked at flowers that way before my son gifted me mine. Sadly, since I really didn't want to garden this year at all, I had intended to just do away with all flowers, but didn't have the heart to do it so I kept a bit of a garden, but may try to figure out how to plant them in my wooden planters and keep them year after year. I did take bulbs in last year, and looked the other day and I think they are okay for replanting. We'll see. Anyway, thanks for visiting. I love seeing my visitors and comments. :)
