  2. If you don't count tunnels, I don't think I've ever been on a covered bridge before!

    1. In history, I think there were many more covered bridges in Ohio, but over the years they've been replaced with the new bridges with just steel on the sides and open. It is fun when traveling and coming across one. I'd wanted to go find this one for a few years every time I would travel about an hour North of my town, and finally did get to so was fun to take the photos.

Nice to see your visit and comment.

    2. We do have a couple of small tunnels as well and seems kids are more prone to have fun screaming or holler through those vs a covered bridge. haha

  3. Are these like those bridges in MAdison County bridges? We don't get them here. Why'd they cover the bridges? (Other than to look so cool?!)

    1. Hi Lydia...thanks for visiting and commenting. I'm not sure the history of the covered bridge unless I would research, but guessing from the one in this photo and others that I've seen, I would guess they were covered because the bridge road is made of wood rather than the ones now that are all made of steel. :) We do have a new one locally that was steel beams across the water that they have redone the roadbed into wood and made a covered bridge. Everyone loves it. They're just fun to drive across. :) Maybe I'll post a picture of that one someday soon. I've been by it, but haven't taken a picture. However, it is a newer fashion and not red like this one...

  4. Hola Peabea.

    1. Hi Raquel...am so glad that you found Pictorial Tuesday and linked up. Welcome and look forward to more of your photo sharing. It does remind me of that movie also. Those bridges are not so frequent here anymore. This one I found about an hour away from where I live so had to stop and take photos. :) I visited and your jewelry is beautiful. Will have to look around in your shop more.

  5. I just love covered bridges, and this one is very pretty. We have several near us, one just a couple miles from where we live.

  6. I love covered bridges! Our former house was less than a mile from a covered bridge and I miss purposefully planning my trips so I had to cross it!

    1. They just recently changed a bridge over a local small river in our area that was just beams above into a covered bridge. Everyone was excited and couldn't wait for it to complete. Like you, it is on the way to some places that I go, and I use to cross the old one just because, but have yet to cross the new covered one. Thanks for visiting. :)
