So, I was picking dead flowers out of my flower boxes, and then I saw this...?? I called hubby out and said "What is this thing?" He told me it was a grasshopper. It looked all upside down to me and I finally figured out that it was hanging onto a green leaf of my flower plant. He held on to it all that day, and the next, and next. I don't know how long he had been there originally. He is now gone from my plant. Nature sure does have some weird looking insects or whatever is the correct name for this thing. Anyway, not sure what he was doing or what use he serves, but I was glad I hadn't wrapped my hand around that part of the plant to pull it out. haha
You're next for sharing with Pictorial Tuesday. As always, excited to see what others have found through the lens of their cameras. :)

Nature is fascinating - but I have trouble with taking photos of insects. I don't want to be that close to them. Have a fabulous week and thank you for the linkup.
ReplyDeleteTotally understand the not wanting to be close. I thought this was dead, and then took a long thin stick to touch and see if it was and that's when it moved. I used my zoom to get the close shot, but afterwards told the grandson who was outside with me that I would have freaked out if that thing had jumped. haha I'm not a fan of grasshoppers anyway when they're popping around the yard. We usually don't have that many, and since this was sideways...wasn't sure what it was or why it clung to that leave for so long. Maybe nourishment?
DeleteThanks for visiting...

It may look creepy to us, but I bet all the female grasshoppers think he is one handsome dude!
ReplyDeleteYour comment made me laugh..thanks. Probably so...what is ugly to some is beautiful to others. haha. Thanks for visiting and commenting.
DeleteGrasshoppers creep me out! But, the way you captured it actually shows how intricate and beautiful it is....in the correct setting (which is not in my house or on my person!) Our Master Artist knows no limits in showing us how amazing and beautiful nature is...if we take time to really notice. Hope your week is going well. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThey creep me out too and the ones that look like a stick. One of those was on the garage last week. Seems for some reason this Fall, I'm seeing more than I have all Summer. Maybe getting ready for the long winter to come. :) ~hugs~ and thanks for visiting.
