Jesus' words: Teaching about Salt and Light
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:16-20

I'm not ready either!
ReplyDeleteEven though school is beginning this week, I'm still hanging onto the calendar's evidence that fall does not begin until two thirds of the way into September.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for this Scripture blessing. These verses are always a challenge to me.
What I always used to tell my students when I was a school teacher - "Let your light shine!" I love the salt and light verses for many reasons.
ReplyDeleteI am not ready for summer to end!!!
I woke up to gray skies and rain today after a record breaking hot, dry summer. September is in the air...
ReplyDeleteMay we all be salt and light in a very lost world. xoxox
