Sunday Scripture Blessings 1 20 19

"For the Lord your GOD is living among you. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs. Zephaniah 3:17 NLT

This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6:16 NIV

So many paths ~ So many choices. I have always been one to be on the "fence as they say" when I need to make a choice. They are hard, and I'm never sure which way I want to fall off that fence. Eventually I do make the choice, and lots of times, I have made them without prayer first for guidance. Some have worked out, some I have regrets over, but as I look back, I do realize that even though I didn't ask prior to my choice, God was there helping. So, I wonder how much better the paths that I chose might have been better had I prayerfully asked my heavenly Father. Even so, as the scripture says, he rejoices with us, and he helps us find rest and peace.

He calms our fears
He loves us
He rejoices over us
He delights in us
He promises rest
All promises that work so much better in life if we ask where the good way is, and choose to walk in it.

I have a special request for prayers for my grandson who lost his father in a tragic accident last week-end. My grandson was with his dad when the accident happened so he witnessed everything. They were having fun in the first snow that had accumulated enough for riding with his dad on the snowmobile. Lots to carry for a 12 year old. Thank you.

Time for sharing a Scripture Blessing link. If you don't have a blog link to share a scripture, please share one in the comment section. Thank you.

  2. OH . . . I'm so sorry for this grief, and for the ongoing load. Praying for you as you speak the love of God into such deep pain. And thank you for sharing truth in the midst of your sorrow. That verse in Zephaniah is one of my favorites for sharing with women, and that ancient prophet was also speaking beautiful truth in a dark time.

  5. I am so sorry to read about the great loss to your family. I will lift your grandson and all of you up to the God of all Comfort.

I've read the verse you shared so many times, but I never focused on the "He will calm all your fears". That spoke special encouragement to me today. Thanks so much for sharing and for your example of joy in the Lord amidst tragedy.

  7. I am so sorry to read about your familys loss. I will lift your grandson up in my prayers. My son witnessed the death of my daddy [ his grandfather ] when he was 14 and it did change his outlook on life. He is now 52 and has lived his life one day at a time never looking to far into the future as he knows firsthand how life can change in an instant. He had close knit support from our family and thankfully it didn't scar him so much that he wasn't able to cope. I pray your grandson has that type of support too. God bless you and your family.
