A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. The spirit of the LORD shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. His delight shall be in the fear of the LORD.

As we begin to celebrate Advent we have HOPE:
For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the LORD," plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. (Isaiah 40:31 NIV)
May the God of HOPE fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NIV)
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one HOPE when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
(Ephesians 4:4 NIV)
As we celebrate Advent, I am following a couple different devotionals, one called Unwrapping Advent by Margaret Feinberg and also one by the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary as well as my own that I've planned out.
H ~ His name is called Mighty Counselor
O ~ One God and Father of All
P ~ Plans He has for us
E ~ Emmanuel
