Pictorial Tuesday ~ 1 30 18

Was working on learning to make the cut outs that you see as squares in this border. When using Adobe Photoshop CS, you use the eraser and set the eraser with spacing of about 300. However, I usually use Adobe Photoshop Elements (currently upgraded from 12 to the 2018 version), and setting the eraser is a bit different but can be done.  Always fun to learn something new for my graphics, and YouTube is wonderful for tutorials.

Making the film strip was fun to do also. It is done the same way using a square eraser or square brush. I followed the YouTube tutorial below to make a film strip:

We are still having winter...bummer. I know, we still have a few more months so I'm not looking forward to February or March weather at all. Can you believe we just started the New Year of 2018, and already only one more day and January has run its course for this year. So far, it has not been too bad. It wasn't too eventful. A doctor visit, bills paid (yay-that's always a plus), I was needed to babysit two of the grandbabykins so had a sleep over at one's house so I could get him on the bus the next morning while his mom was at work, and the other was at a hotel while her parents had a bit of time out. She and I spent some time in the pool, then a movie and snack time. I enjoyed getting out of the house so for me that was like a really mini-mini vacation. haha

Snow covered Tree:

Tonight it is snowing and the wind is howling. We aren't suppose to get that much accumulation so hoping not like week before last when the wind drifted the snow around and we couldn't plow out of the driveway for a couple of days.

Sunday Scripture Blessing 1 28 18

LUKE 1 Introduction:
Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.

  • The birth of John the Baptist Foretold ~ Zechariah is told that his wife will bear a child in her old age, and they are to call him John.
  • Mary visits Elizabeth - The baby John leaps in Elizabeth's womb upon Mary's greeting. Elizabeth tells Mary ~ "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear.
Mary's Song

My soul glorifies the LORD and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me - holy is his name. His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty. He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors."

  • John the Baptist is born
  • Jesus is born
  • Jesus is presented in the Temple and a man in Jerusalem called Simeon who was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him took baby Jesus in his arms and praised God, saying: "Sovereign LORD, as you promised, you many now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel."
  • John the Baptist Prepares the Way
  • The Baptism and Genealogy of Jesus ~ who down the line is the son of Seth who is the son of Adam who is the son of God
In my reading through the Bible beginning again this year, I am re-reading the New Testament. Have finished Matthew, Mark, and am through chapter 3 in Luke.

What have you been reading so far this new year of 2018? Thanks for sharing, and you're next for sharing a scripture blessing today. We Are Blessed Every Day!

Pictorial Tuesday ~ 1 23 18

car·di·nal

a New World songbird of the bunting family, with a stout bill and typically with a conspicuous crest. The male is partly or mostly red in color.

The cardinal is a favorite. Although, I wish that the yellow finch would visit our feeder, but it doesn't. We get the Junco, the Blue Jay, the Cardinals (male and female), the Mourning Doves (sadly though one lost a partner and now comes alone), the Nuthatch, and just regular sparrows.

You're next for sharing a link to Pictorial Tuesday of you're photography, photo art or graphics. Thanks.

Sunday Scripture Blessings ~ 1 21 18

And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 KJV

God's peace is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 TLB

Thank you to all who stop by Sunday Scripture Blessings. Your blessings are appreciated.

You're next if you would like to share a scripture. Also, comment scripture blessings are welcome as well. Happy Sunday.

Pictorial Tuesday ~ 1 16 18

You can see the field across the road with not much snow cover, it's because it all blew in front of our house in a  4 ft. drift. Took us most of day to shovel enough that hubby could finally get through with the blade on the front of his garden tractor and make a path large enough that I could get my car out of the garage.

We've always had a lot of snow drift in front of our house so over the years, we're pretty much use to it, but I really am tired of it already. haha

This is the only thing that I've photographed because with the single and below temps, I really haven't ventured out.

You're next for sharing on Pictorial Tuesday. (And, I apologize that it is posted later today).

Sunday Scripture Blessing 1 14 18

Mark 11:22-26 NIV - "Have faith in GOD," Jesus answered. Truly I tell you, if anyone says to that mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart, but believe that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.

Thank you to all who come to share a scripture blessing this Sunday

You're next.

Sunday Scripture Blessings ~ 1 7 18

Nehemiah 8

When the seventh month came and the Israelites had settled in their towns, all the people came together as one in the square before the Water Gate. They told Ezra the teacher of the Law to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded for Israel. Nehemiah 8:1

Ezra opened the book. All the people could see him because he was standing above them; and as he opened it, the people all stood up. Ezra praised the LORD, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded, Amen! Amen!. Then they bowed down and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground. Nehemiah 8:5-6

They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the people understood what was being read. Nehemiah 8:8

Then Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and teacher of the Law, and the Levites who were instructing the people said to them all, "This day is holy to the LORD your God. Do not Mourn or weep, "For all the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law. Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our LORD. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
Nehemiah 8:9-10

Note: my background paper was found on MyMemories.com by PapierStudio designer.
I like trying to make my own digital paper, but always fun to find some from those very talented designers who share....sometimes even free. You can find many varieties free and reasonable at MyMemories.com.

The Coffee Shop Blog is also a very creative designer who shares most of her creations.

Check both these sites out for inspiration if you like to digital bible journal as well as creating in your Bible. I combine both.

Pictorial Tuesday 1 2 2018

Such a frosty morning here for the first day of 2018. It is below zero for temps here in Ohio. Only about -4 but not really use to that after we had such a mild winter last year.

Hope everyone had a nice New Year's Eve.

Thanks to everyone who came and shared their great photography on my Pictorial Tuesday link up during 2017. They all were very much appreciated, and as always, the comments are enjoyed and I read every one. So, hoping to continue Pictorial Tuesday for 2018 and looking forward to more beautiful photo sharing. Thank you to all who stop by. If you don't have a photography blog, Inlinkz now says that you can share a link to an Instagram photo.  If you can't share a link to your blog photography, or Instagram, I hope you will share a comment hello. :)
