Sunday Scripture Blessings 6 3 18

Psalm 124 NIV
A song of ascents, of David
If the LORD had not been on our side-
let Israel say-
if the LORD had not been on our side
when people attacked us,
they would have swallowed us alive
when their anger flared against us;
the flood would have engulfed us,
the torrent would have swept over us,
the raging waters
would have swept us away.

Praise be to the LORD,
who has not let us be torn by their teeth.
We have escaped like a bird
from the fowler's snare;
the snare has been broken,
and we have escaped.
Our help is in the name of the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 120 begins the 15 song of ascents, of David.
I call on the LORD in my distress, and he answers me. Save me LORD, from the lying lips and from deceitful tongues.
What will he do to you and what more besides, you deceitful tongue? He will punish you with a warrior's sharp arrows, with burning coals of the broom bush.
Woe to me that I dwell in Meshek, that I live among the tents of Kedar! Too long have I lived among those who hate peace. I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
Psalm 120 Footnote:

Footnotes:

  1. Psalm 120:1 It is possible that the fifteen psalms known as the “Songs of Degrees or Ascents” were sung by the caravans of pilgrims going up to attend the annual feasts at Jerusalem. But it is equally possible that the title has reference to some peculiarity in connection with the music or the manner of using it.

And again I probably repeat, the months just seem to melt away. May is gone and we now say hello to June. Happy June to everyone and hope it is a good month for all.

Please share a Scripture Blessing link and try to visit at least one other and say hello or comment on one another's scripture blessings. Thanks.
