Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 11 11 18

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him.
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7 KJV

Sometimes, I use eSword for Bible reading as well as my hands on Bible. It's a handy tool for snipping parts to add to a digital graphic, etc. as well as reading and cross references. It is packed with various tools like journaling, study tools, etc.  eSword is a free Bible study for PC that has different Bibles you can load (some free, some not) as well as commentary from different sources.. If you want more information, you can find about it and the download HERE.

Below is a daily devotion that accompanied the scripture Colossians 2:6-7.
If we have received Christ himself in our inmost hearts, our new life will manifest its intimate acquaintance with him by a walk of faith in him. Walking implies action. Our religion is not to be confined to our closet; we must carry out into practical effect that which we believe. If a man walks in Christ, then he so acts as Christ would act; for Christ being in him, his hope, his love, his joy, his life, he is the reflex of the image of Jesus; and men say of that man, "He is like his Master; he lives like Jesus Christ." Walking signifies progress. "So walk ye in him"; proceed from grace to grace, run forward until you reach the uttermost degree of knowledge that a man can attain concerning our Beloved. Walking implies continuance. There must be a perpetual abiding in Christ. How many Christians think that in the morning and evening they ought to come into the company of Jesus, and may then give their hearts to the world all the day: but this is poor living; we should always be with him, treading in his steps and doing his will. Walking also implies habit. When we speak of a man's walk and conversation, we mean his habits, the constant tenor of his life. Now, if we sometimes enjoy Christ, and then forget him; sometimes call him ours, and anon lose our hold, that is not a habit; we do not walk in him. We must keep to him, cling to him, never let him go, but live and have our being in him. "As ye have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him"; persevere in the same way in which ye have begun, and, as at the first Christ Jesus was the trust of your faith, the source of your life, the principle of your action, and the joy of your spirit, so let him be the same till life's end; the same when you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, and enter into the joy and the rest which remain for the people of God. O Holy Spirit, enable us to obey this heavenly precept.
It's November, and we've had our first dusting of snow. Seems early, but I remember years past when we had snow as early as October. It would sometimes pile down and stay. Christmas break always brought ice skating on ponds. Lately though, the weather doesn't compliment ice skating because they do seem more mild or the ice skating would happen more in February and even March. Or perhaps, I've just aged and am not out and about to know if one goes to a pond anymore to skate rather than an inside arena. We do have those about an hour away from my town.

Soon Thanksgiving will be upon us. I'm ready for a big meal family time, and hoping the children and their families' schedules might allow them a visit.

Thank You to all our veterans on this Veterans Day.

So on to the scripture sharing. Thank you to all who stop by and leave a link. It is such a boost to my week, and hopefully to others that you visit.

  1. I love when verses imply action. Living a life with God means we must act. I just love that.

  3. Thank you for the eSword information. I will check it out. I love the daily devotion: walking with Christ implies action. Yes, we must act as Christians always. We must live our lives as Christians and follow Jesus' example by always keeping God in our minds and hearts, by living a selfless life, and by contemplating the Lord.

  4. I love the online tools we have for Bible reading and research! I hope you get time with your children and their families this holiday season. Our plans got a bit waylaid this year and I'm trying to just go with the flow!
