Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 11 15 2020

Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. He could bring about no change of mind, though he sought the blessing with tears. Hebrews 12:17

My belief is that had Esau lived after Jesus, he would be forgiven once he confessed and truly believed because Jesus came to erase our sins. So thankful that I live in a world that knows the Son who by his shed blood cleansed from sin, which allows for another chance once we stumble and fall.

  1. I find comfort about Esau in the reunion that happened between him and Jacob. So glad God includes that scene in Scripture!

  3. Bitterness can wreak such havoc. I'm thankful we have forgiveness through Christ.

  4. I did a study on Hebrews and was blown away by how much I liked it. The book is now one of my favorites. And, aren't we all like Esau in that we are quick to embrace instant gratification at the expense of most lasting choices? He may have been forgiven, but he did need to live with the consequences of his action. It has always struck me odd that Jacob deceived Issac but was rewarded with the blessing. That said, he did face some adverse consequences for his actions too.
