Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 3 7 2021

Jusus Talks With a Samaritan Woman  John 4:19-26

"Sir," the woman said, " I can see that you are a prophet. Our ancestors worhipped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem."

"Woman", Jesus replied, "believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."

The woman said, "I know that Messiah" (called Christ) "is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us."

Then Jesus declared, "I, the one speaking to you - I am he."

  1. "I am He." Three simple words which say so much. "I am He" who has all the answers. "I am He" who can do all things. "I am He" who will be with you forever. "I am He."

  2. What a life changing experience for thus nameless woman-- and a solid lesson for us about our artificial social barriers.

  3. What a wonderful Savior who led us by example in the way He loved.

  4. I love how Jesus didn't hurry through the Samaritan land, but stopped and spoke with the woman at the well. It was also frowned upon for a rabbi to speak to a Samaritan woman. It's a beautiful story of how none of our past sins can keep us from the living water of redemption.

  5. I love this encounter. And this verse--so important to worship Him both in Spirit and truth.

  6. Jesus speaks truth to this woman firmly but with such love and gentleness. No wonder she believed and told everyone she knew and led them to the Lord as well.
