Sunday Scripture Blessing ~ 12 31 17

  • They stripped Jesus and put a scarlet robe on him
  • They put a crown of thorns on his head
  • The spit on him
  • They struck him with a staff on his head again and again
  • They mocked him
  • Then they crucified him

What shall I do then with Jesus who is call the Messiah? Pilate asked
They all answered 'Crucify Him'
Pilate took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. I am innocent of this man's blood, he said. It is your responsibility.
All the people answered, 'His blood is on us and on our children'.
Then he released Barabas to them, had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.
Joseph, a rich man from Arimathea bought a plot and that is where Jesus was buried.
In three days, Jesus was risen, and when the eleven disciples saw Jesus, he came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the HolySpirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

And, even after all , a Loving Jesus is still there for us with only one command...that we ask and believe on him. We are forgiven. We are washed clean with his sacrifice. How awesome even after all that he suffered.

Reading in Matthew. From the birth and to the resurrection. And doing some Bible Journaling. Messed up the word Gethsemane when I tried to emboss it. For some reason, I never have good luck with the embossing.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and that 2018 is gracious to everyone, and we find some Peace for our world.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD. Matthew 23:39

Was excited to find this Journaling Bible at a great bargain at a local store. They get Bibles in that must be overstocks, and they offer them much lower than market price. This one was marked $16.99, and I got it with my discount coupon for $15.29. I kept looking at it and thinking that I didn't really need it, but with such a good price, and I do like to get different Bible versions and this one that is ESV, I didn't have that added to my collection yet. The one I have now only gives space on the edge for journaling, but this one has a full page after each page of scripture. I do find for me that with reading the scripture and then deciding how to journal and do notes after my reading helps me to reflect on the scriptures. I haven't journaled in it yet since I haven't finished my other one yet.

Pictorial Tuesday ~ 12 26 17

Cannot believe this is my last Pictorial Tuesday of 2017. Where did this year go?

Hope all had a nice and Merry Christmas. I spent pretty much from right before Thanksgiving and Christmas getting a cold, then feeling bit better after Thanksgiving and then the week of Christmas, it became flu like. Thank God that the fever left and I felt at least good enough to get things done so my kids could come for our Christmas Eve get together dinner. Then Christmas Day, I pretty much slept the day away so I apologize that this photo is from a different year, but pretty much how today was a twin to this. It is 15 outside and cold, cold, but we did have snow that started Christmas Eve so it ended up a White Christmas Eve. Then today, the wind had pretty much blown it away so thankfully we didn't even have to plow the driveway.

I'm the one that always has the camera and people saying there she is taking photos again, and they give the hand wave like not me...don't take my picture. haha But this year, I did not get any Christmas pictures of the family together. I'm hoping maybe the daughter did and can share with me. :)

Anyway, looking forward to your sharings for this week's Pictorial Tuesday; You're Next.

Sunday Scripture Blessings ~ 12 17 17

The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard
Matthew 20: 1-16
16: So the last will be first, and the first will be last

All are equal with Jesus no matter when you first accept Christ. Those who accept later will be equal to those who have known Jesus in their hearts for a longer time.

Hope all have a Merry Christmas  season as we head into the last week before Christmas Day.

Thank you for sharing a scripture blessing this Sunday before Christmas Eve:

Pictorial Tuesday Sharing Link Up ~ 12 12 17

The grandbabies were here on Sunday, and we had our first bit of snow that stayed on ground. Granddaughter had all kinds of plans for making a snowman. Described how she would make his eyes, nose and arms, but was so disappointed that it just wasn't the packing kind of snow. But, she did love playing out in it. The grandson did shoveling of the sidewalks. And, of course, Razzy had to be out with them, but as you can see from the pictures, he wasn't moving very much and went pretty quickly back in the house.

Look forward to your sharing of what you've been shooting:

Positive Energy Quote

It is so hard when things just aren't going the best in daily life to stay positive with attitude. As the quote says though, don't go down that slippery slope of negativity. Stay positive. I have found things can always be worse than the mountain we seem to be facing in the moment, and there is always the promise of a better tomorrow.

Bible Journaling Advent ~ HOPE 12 8 17

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him - the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord.

He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions of the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra's den, and the yound child will put its hand into the viper's nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious.

HOPE

Pro_23:18  Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
Isa_8:17  I will wait for the LORD, who is hiding his face from the house of Jacob, and I will hope in him.
Jer_17:13  O LORD, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you shall be put to shame; those who turn away from you shall be written in the earth, for they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living water.

Bible Journaling Advent ~ HOPE 12 5 17

His delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide by what his ears hear; but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his loins. Isaiah 11:3-5

HOPE

For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
Romans 8:24-15 NIV

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. — John 3:16 (NIV).

"Breath Of Heaven (Mary's Song)"
I have traveled many moonless nights
Cold and weary with a babe inside
And I wonder what I've done
Holy Father you have come
And chosen me now
To carry your son

I am waiting in a silent prayer
I am frightened by the load I bear
In a world as cold as stone
Must I walk this path alone
Be with me now
Be with me now

Breath of heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of heaven
Breath of heaven
Lighten my darkness
Pour over me your holiness
For you are holy
Breath of heaven

Do you wonder as you watch my face
If a wiser one should have had my place
But I offer all I am
For the mercy of your plan
Help me be strong
Help me be
Help me

Lyrics (Amy Grant)

Pictorial Tuesday Link Up ~ 12 5 17

This photo is from a few years ago. I need to get into the Christmas spirit and decorate for this year, but haven't found the umph!! so far. It just doesn't seem possible that it is December and 2017 is going to come to a close soon. Seems like it just started. Plus, we have had warmer than normal weather for November and December so maybe if we get some snow they are predicting, it will be for a better decorating mood. Although, I just want a nice, soft falling snow...no big piles of the white stuff. :)

I've been sewing some gifts for my girls so that helps to get the Christmas spirit going, and am crocheting hats for Little Hats Big Hearts that need to be done and mailed soon.

What's going on in your part of the world this week. Look forward to your photography or graphics link ups.

Bible Journaling Advent ~ HOPE 12 4 17 and a gift for you

And there shall come forth a Shoot out of the stock of Jesse [David's father], and a Branch out of his roots shall grow and bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him - the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord - And shall make Him of quick understanding, and His delight shall be in the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord. And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, neither decide by the hearing of His ears;  Isaiah 11:1-3 AMP (Amplified Bible)

HOPE
Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love,
Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you.
For the needy shall not always be forgotten, and the hope of the poor shall not perish forever.
Psalm 33:18, 22 and Psalm 9:18

Sunday Scripture Blessings ~ 12 3 17 ~ HOPE

A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. The spirit of the LORD shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. His delight shall be in the fear of the LORD.
(taken from (c)Pittsburgh Theological Seminary)

As we begin to celebrate Advent we have HOPE:
For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the LORD," plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)

but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. (Isaiah 40:31 NIV)

May the God of HOPE fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NIV)

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one HOPE when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
(Ephesians 4:4 NIV)

As we celebrate Advent, I am following a couple different devotionals, one called Unwrapping Advent by Margaret Feinberg and also one by the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary as well as my own that I've planned out.

H ~ His name is called Mighty Counselor
O ~ One God and Father of All
P ~ Plans He has for us
E ~ Emmanuel
